The Knothole Lutherie Shop: AKA McCloud Designs

This site is dedicated to learning. I encourage viewers to come in and ask questions about wood and guitars. I will always be a "student" and strive to learn with every project I begin. Come in, if you play guitar --- play, if not, enjoy the beautiful woods. Most of all, enjoy the moment, life is full of them.

Labels: This guitar has a Fender Lace humbucker sensor pickup with a switch to cut to one coil. The pickup was placed in the bridge position to create a "sharper" tone.

About Me

John
Eugene, Oregon, United States
The Knothole Lutherie Shop was created October 2009 in the Lincoln City Cultural Center to create 22 classical guitars. My late wife Lennis and I decided that I needed a diversion to keep my mind off her condition. I had been building guitars and collecting lutherie wood as a hobby since 1991 so I had the building blocks for a project like this. This project was started strictly as a creative and sharing process without the thought of marketing...that's still my philosophy for the Knothole Lutherie Shop...My life moved on. I remarried and moved to Eugene in 2012 with my wife Ewalina. Together we share the artistic world. She displays her water colors and I display my guitars at the Pacific Artists Co-Op in Lincoln City. Come visit and talk wood and guitars.
